As the name already suggests, you’re walking into a claypot haven where you have an array of food served in piping hot claypots. The Claypot House has a total of 4 branches in Kuching; BDC Everrise, Vivacity Megamall, MJC Batu Kawah New Township & Hock Lee Centre. Fully air-conditioned and serves no pork, The Claypot House also serves Western and other Asian food along with refreshing hot and cold beverages at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended on the menu for the claypot section are the Pakistan Curry Lamb, Spicy Beef, Seafood Claypot Mee, Salted Fish Chicken, and Herbal Mushroom Chicken Soup.
A dish befitting of Pakistani cuisine, The Claypot House’s Pakistan Curry Lamb is the epitome of culinary perfection as it entails the marriage between chunks of delectable lamb with an assortment of carefully prepped spices and herbs. For only RM8.70, the texture of the lamb is fairly tender and juicy; Not forgetting the thick curry texture that gives out a very aromatic taste. The Pakistan Curry Lamb is best eaten with white rice as it is mildly spicy yet full of flavour giving it a little dance in your mouth. And there is no better way to wrap up your meal with a glass of Teh Tarik to evoke the brimming aftertaste.
The Claypot House’s Spicy Beef is the ultimate treat for beef eaters and spicy food lovers. Although the name of the dish seems to suggest something explosive and very spicy, this beef dish is just moderately spicy. A dish that even the non-spicy eaters can handle and enjoy. Served in a hot and sizzling claypot, the beef is slowed cooked until it’s tender and extremely flavorful. For only RM10, it contains plenty of beef tendons which are nutritious for the body. Don’t forget to have a bowl of rice to go with this Spicy Beef!
Claypot Mee is another Kuchingites’ favourite noodle dish. If you are a seafood or noodle lover, then you have to try The Claypot House’s Seafood Claypot Mee. Aromatic and inviting, this dish is served piping hot with fresh prawns, fish balls, fish cakes, crab sticks, vegetables, meat and egg. For only RM10, this dish is perfect to have on a cold, rainy day.
I am pretty sure many of you like eating salted fish. The Claypot House’s Salted Fish Chicken is so aromatic and full of flavour that will immediately open up your appetite. Plus the meat is so tender. And it’s only RM7!
