By Ashley Sim May Yee on Jul 29, 2019

We all know that “Kompia” is Sibu’s signature food and most popular pastry. Delicious and hot-out-of-the-wok, the Foochow bagels are filled with umami minced pork fillings which are perfect to be eaten for breakfast with kopi or as an afternoon snack. But apart from the famous traditional flavor (minced pork), have you tried “Angchao” kompia before? No? Then you have to head to Stall 240 Sarawak Heritage Kitchen tonight at Kuching Festival.

Sinful but yummy, Stall 240’s angchao kompia is filled with angchao flavored minced chicken and diced salted vegetables. The bagel has a well-cooked texture and the fillings are a mixture of sweet and umami taste. One mouthful of the angchao kompia, and you will taste a plethora of flavors bursting in your mouth!

If you prefer something sweet, you can try their Sweet Kompia w/ Peanut Milk. The pieces of kompia have a nice crispy texture and together with the condensed milk and peanuts coating, it makes a great snack.
