【Lei Cha – A Lee’s Family Traditional Recipe!】@ Lee's Family Traditional Lei Cha

By Ashley Sim May Yee, on Dec 12, 2017

It’s hard to deny that we are not into a healthy lifestyle because unhealthy food taste a lot better and those organic set meals take a big bite off our budget. (>ლ) But if you’re looking to detoxify your body, then come fix yourself a good bowl of Lei Cha here at 【李家古早味擂茶 Lee's Family Traditional Lei Cha】. (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) Located in Dai Pai Dong 大排档 eatery, Lee’s bright green-ish Lei Cha stall is easily noticed from afar.

Lee’s Family Traditional Lei Cha’s recipe has passed down through generations. What’s significant about their Lei Cha is the soup, meticulously made with 8 assorted vegetables, nicely blended premium Chinese tea, and no added MSG. For those who love a bitter aftertaste, the bitterness can be adjusted to your preference. ( ゚ヮ゚)

There are 2 options for the Lei Cha, Normal (RM6) & Special (RM7). For the Normal bowl, it consists of Black Rice, which is a healthy substitution for the White Rice, Chai Poh, Long Bean, Leek, Manichai & wok Roasted Peanuts. As for the Special bowl, Anchovies are added. Mix the ingredients and soup all up and you'll be exposed to a plethora of flavors, as well as a play of texture. It is fragrant, bitter (based on your preferred level of bitterness), savory, and ultimately, delicious! (っ˘ڡ˘ς)
