By Ashley Sim May Yee on Mar 28, 2019

Established in 2001, Chef At Home has long since been a part of Kuching’s western culinary scene, satisfying countless of customers vying for good western food. Being a family-based restaurant, the interior is designed to look comfortable and cozy with a touch of warmth, like one is dining at home while sporting a fresh look for the younger crowd scene.

Chef At Home accommodates the gastronomical cravings of their customers with a splendid array of western dishes. Their menu includes chicken, beef, lamb, and seafood, each prepared with their own distinct styles. They are one of the few restaurants in town who provides their customers a selection of fish to choose from such as dory, tilapia, and snapper. Besides serving western dishes, being a family-based restaurant, Chef At Home also offers a range of Asian dishes such as rice and poké bowls. What’s more, since early 2019, vegetarian dishes were too introduced into the menu, perfect for those looking to cut down on animal protein.

You can start off with Chef At Home’s highly recommended hearty and delicious Mushroom Soup served in a bread bowl. You also have to try their popular appetizer, the creamy and bursting with flavors Chef’s Caesar Salad. As for the main course, another highly recommended dish would be their Grilled Sirloin Steak flavored with black peppercorns and sea salt. Juicy and tender, the steak is grilled to mouth-watering perfection. Additionally, if you’re a fan of fish dishes, we recommend you their delicious Pan Seared New Zealand Butter Fish that is served with lemon sauce. And for dessert, do try out their homemade dessert or any sliced cakes.

Apart from dinner, Chef At Home also serves affordable and delicious afternoon tea on a beautiful fine bone China three-tiered cake stand. They want their customers to have a delightful afternoon tea experience without having to break the bank. Priced at only RM20, it consists of a vast selection of treats, both sweet and savoury. And you can opt for tea or coffee. Their afternoon tea is served everyday from 3-6pm on weekdays and 2-6pm on weekends.
