What is Kuching known for? Sarawak Laksa of course! °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖° An all-time favorite of the Sarawakians, the distinctive Sarawak Laksa is a must-try for visitors in Kuching. This signature dish has been described as the “Breakfast of the Gods” by popular travel host Anthony Bourdain during his last visit in Kuching, and he is definitely correct. ヾ(⌐■_■)ノ♪ Each stall serving Sarawak Laksa has their own signature style and everyone is steadfastly loyal to their favorite place. But if you’re looking for a new Sarawak Laksa spot, then you should try A’ One Laksa, a hidden gem in Kuching. ヾ(^∇^)
Located in Blossom Cafe at Jalan Permata, A’ One Laksa stall serves their Laksa with the softest strands of rice vermicelli noodles, a sign that they were blanched well, which separated nicely instead of being bundled up when you pull them up using chopsticks. The Laksa comes in two sizes, Small (RM5) and Big (RM7). The ingredients they use are small chicken cubes, shredded egg strips, taugehs and fresh prawns, topped with coriander leaves. The gravy is an essential part in determining the overall taste of the Laksa, and this one is a mix of tangy and salty goodness. For non-spicy eaters, this bowl of Laksa is perfect for you as the spiciness level is just right. But if you want it to be more spicy, just throw in the sambal and mix it all up. Aromatic and flavorful, you’ll love it! ♥‿♥
